Summary

MEAN Consultors designed, built, and continues to evolve TDMEasy — a purpose-built operations platform that consolidates the day-to-day work of a durable medical equipment (DME) provider into a single, dependable system.

The platform replaces a mix of manual back-office work and disconnected tools with a modern web portal backed by a hardened API. Every phase of the project — discovery, architecture, engineering, and iterative delivery — has been led by MEAN Consultors.

About the client

The client is a US healthcare provider operating in the durable medical equipment sector. Their teams coordinate treatment equipment for patients recovering from injury, working closely with the medical practices that refer those patients. Client identity is intentionally kept private in this case study; the focus here is on the work our team did and the outcomes it enabled.

The challenge

The client’s operation depended on a small, high-performing team juggling many moving pieces per patient case: scheduling, documentation, coordination between medical and administrative stakeholders, follow-ups, and reporting. Three pressures were converging:

1Scale

As caseload grew, ad-hoc processes based on spreadsheets, email, and standalone tools stopped keeping up.

2Accuracy

With information living in several places, reconciling status across them was slow and error-prone.

3Visibility

Leadership needed a real picture of the operation without waiting for someone to build a report by hand.

They needed a system that could grow with them — one that treated each patient case as a single, connected record, and gave every stakeholder the exact view they needed. Nothing more, nothing less.

What MEAN Consultors delivered

TDMEasy is delivered as a modern, unified operations platform in two parts:

A web portal for operations

Where the internal team and authorized partners run the business day to day: a clean, searchable view of every open case, dashboards leadership actually looks at, and well-designed workflows that guide users through complex multi-step processes. Server-side rendering for fast first paint, dark mode, responsive layout, and real-time updates keep everyone on the same version of the truth.

A hardened API & integrations layer

Behind the portal sits a NestJS API on MongoDB, with WebSocket support for real-time updates, scheduled jobs for recurring work, and purpose-built integrations to the exact channels the business already uses. Deployed to standard cloud infrastructure, it follows healthcare security expectations: strong authentication, layered role-based access, encrypted storage of sensitive files, and audit trails where they matter.

How MEAN Consultors approached it

TDMEasy is the result of a genuine product partnership, not a one-off build. A few decisions defined how we worked:

Understand the business first

Before any code, we sat with the people who run cases and mapped the real workflow — so the platform reflects their operation, not a generic template.

Ship in slices

Instead of a months-long “big bang,” we shipped vertical slices. Each one made a real, painful step of the client’s day easier — and every release had to justify itself immediately.

Access control as a first-class feature

Each user sees exactly what they should — no more. That guarantee lives at the database layer, not just in the UI, so it holds even for our own developers.

Build for evolution

New partners, services, and document types show up over time. Clean feature boundaries and shared vocabulary make adding a capability a matter of days, not a re-platforming.

Take ownership

Not a body-shop supplier: we own the roadmap conversations, the architectural calls, the release cadence, and on-call for what we deliver.

Outcomes

The specific numbers belong to the client, so this stays qualitative. What we can say publicly:

  • A single system of record. Case information lives in one place instead of five — less time reconciling, more time serving patients.

  • Faster onboarding. New staff learn the platform in a fraction of the time the old mix of tools required.

  • Actionable visibility. Dashboards and reports are always current, so decisions use today’s data — not yesterday’s snapshot.

  • Confidence to scale. With the platform stable and evolving, the client adds staff, medical partners, and caseload without the tools becoming the ceiling.

  • Room to grow. Because the platform is composable, the client has launched new services on top of it that were out of reach with their previous stack.

Why the client works with MEAN Consultors

1We lead

We don’t wait to be told what to build. We understand the business, propose the next step, and defend the choices we make.

2Small and senior

A tight team of experienced engineers, not a rotating cast — consistent judgment and continuity.

3Around when it matters

The platform is business-critical. We treat it that way.

If you’re running a healthcare, logistics, or professional-services operation on spreadsheets and disconnected tools, let’s talk about what a modern, dedicated platform could look like for you.

Frequently asked questions

Who built the TDMEasy platform?

MEAN Consultors designed, delivered, and continues to evolve the TDMEasy platform for a durable medical equipment provider. Every layer — architecture, engineering, and delivery — is led by MEAN Consultors.

What does TDMEasy include?

A web portal for internal operations and authorized external partners, backed by a hardened API with integrations to the services the client already relies on.

What technologies does the platform use?

NestJS and MongoDB on the backend, and Angular 18 for the web portal, with shared TypeScript types across both sides.

Is the platform designed for a healthcare compliance context?

Yes. It was built for a US healthcare context, with role-based access enforced at the database layer, encrypted storage of sensitive files, layered authentication, and audit trails on high-impact actions.

Can MEAN Consultors build a similar platform for my business?

Yes. MEAN Consultors leads end-to-end engagements for teams that need to move from scattered tools to a unified, purpose-built operations platform.
